Like all things in life, nothing is free or without cost.
There's always bills to cover for hosting the server and website.
The Daily Block is a non-profit server. Not one on our staff gets paid to do what they do (including Alex, who maintains and hosts the blog, server and website). We all do it for the fun and the love of doing it.
Donations are not required, demanded or expected.
But they really are apreciated by the crew and help us to continue doing this all.
On The Daily Block Servers, we do not have a donator rank or any reward for doing so. Why? Because we feel it makes people think they're 'above everyone else' and 'exempt from the rules' because they donated. Everyone on our servers is equal to all the staff and other players.
It also adds value to our rank system. When you are ranked up you've been rewarded because you earnt it; not because you paid for it. It means that you should always be at your best in hope of that next rank, because thats exactly what ranks are about here.
